A 68-year-old Liberty Lake man died Friday at Kootenai Health as the result of injuries he sustained in a vehicle crash earlier this week.
The crash occurred around 3 p.m. Monday when the man, Glenn Davis, attempted to make a left turn from the southbound shoulder of U.S. 95 near Cougar Gulch Road, south of Coeur d’Alene. Idaho State Police report Davis’ 2016 Ford Escape was parked on the right shoulder of the roadway in the construction zone, prior to making the turn onto the highway and failing to yield to a southbound vehicle driven by Sviatoslav Nesteruk, 31, of Spokane. Nesteruk’s maroon 1996 Toyota Previa struck Davis’ vehicle on the driver’s side.
Davis had a passenger in his car, Cheryl Davis, 70, of Nine Mile Falls, Wash. He was the only person transported to the hospital following the crash.
“Everyone else was wearing their seatbelts,” said a news release from ISP.
An investigation is ongoing.
