In 1965, Bob and Dolores moved to McCook, Neb., to help manage and operate the Hesterwerth family farm. While in Nebraska, Bob and Dolores had two more children and raised their three children while working together on the farm. In 1976, Bob and Dolores moved their family to Hayden, Idaho, where Bob lived the remainder of his life. He worked as a real estate agent in North Idaho for several years before going back to his original trade as a machinist for Advanced Input Devices, where he worked until he retired.
Bob was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved his family and was always beaming about the accomplishments of his grandchildren. Bob loved the outdoors and teaching his sons, daughter and grandchildren how to camp, hunt and shoot. Bob was an avid trap shooter and a member of the Hauser Lake gun club, National Rifle Association and the Amateur Trapshooting Association for many years. Bob was also a member of the McCook Masonic Lodge No. 135 for more than 40 years.
