Chiefs get past Everett

EVERETT — Spokane’s Kailer Yamamoto had a goal and three assists, leading the Chiefs past the U.S. Division leading Everett Silvertips 4-1 in Western Hockey League play in front of 3,519 on Wednesday at XFINITY Arena.

Spokane (26-27-6-3, 61 points) improves to 4-3 on the season against Everett. The Chiefs trail Portland by nine points for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference with 10 games remaining.

Jaret Anderson-Dolan opened the scoring with his 34th of the season to give Spokane a 1-0 lead after the first period. Anderson-Dolan assisted on Yamamoto’s goal midway through the second to take a 2-0 lead.

Keanu Yamamoto’s 24th goal of the season gave Spokane a 3-0 lead in the third. Everett cut the deficit to 3-1 on a goal by Riley Sutter, but an empty netter by Riley Woods capped the scoring for Spokane.

Jayden Sittler had 32 saves for Spokane, which plays back-to-back nights at Victoria starting on Friday at 7:05 p.m.
