Missionaries

Anthony Jacob Gary Lee Nash-Campbell, 19, of Worley, was recently called to serve a two-year mission to the Peru Lima North Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Michael and Nicole Campbell, of Worley, are his parents.

Anthony will learn to speak Spanish while he is at the Missionary Training Center in Lima, Peru. He was home schooled. He is very talented and taught himself to play piano, guitar and ukulele. After his mission, he plans to attend Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, and perhaps expand his interest in writing and film making.

Carl and Wendy Eaton, of Coeur d’Alene, have been called to serve a mission to the Africa West Area for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They are members of the Coeur d’Alene 3rd Ward. Departing for their 23 months of service, they will report to the Mission Training Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, on March 6, then fly to Accra, Ghana, on March 13.

Elder and Sister Eaton’s involvement on this mission will be to supervise auditing procedures for more than 1,000 church units. Because we are a lay church, we have no paid clergy and all of our donations go directly to those in need. They will make sure that all of the funds end up with those who qualify based on need. Most of the countries speak English, but Wendy will accommodate those that speak French. They felt that because they have been so blessed in this wonderful country that we live in, it was time to give back and they are excited for the opportunity to help people who have so many needs.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has installed fresh water wells that currently serve more than 160,000 African citizens and there are ongoing humanitarian projects throughout the continent of Africa. We are seeing a people that are now becoming self-sufficient due to these efforts.

Jakob Wayne Baures, 24, of Spirit Lake, was recently called to serve a two-year mission to the Alaska Anchorage Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His parents are Gayle and Wayne Baures of Spirit Lake.

Jakob graduated from Timberlake High School in 2011. He has taken college classes with the online Pathway Program. Jakob is an Eagle Scout and he worked as a Satellite Dish Technician before entering the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah.

Kevin Edward Kelley, 22, of Spirit Lake, received his call to serve a two-year mission to the Utah Logan Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is the son of Douglas and Catherine Kelley of Spirit Lake.

Kevin is right in the middle of a family of nine children. He is musically talented and plays the trombone. Kevin worked at getting his GED through North Idaho College and he last worked with a local business: Ray Cap in Liberty Lake where he did soldering and assembly work.
