Donna Kempton (Lohman), 65
Donna Kempton (Lohman), 65, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, passed away peacefully Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017, at her home with family by her side.
She was born to Donald and Vera Lohman in Cincinnati, Ohio, on Feb. 28, 1951, and grew up in Ohio, moving to Littleton, Colo., in the ninth grade.
Donna graduated from Arapaho High School in Littleton in 1969 and furthered her education at Mercy School of Nursing in Denver, Colo., graduating with a degree as a Registered Nurse in 1974.
While in Colorado, Donna met her soul mate, David Kempton, they were married in 1972 in Littleton. Donna worked at Swedish Hospital in Littleton as a Registered Nurse.
Donna and her family moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1977 and worked at Kootenai Medical Center for more than 20 years. Donna had a liver transplant in 1980 and talked about Organ Donation at area high schools for more than 20 years as a volunteer. She also volunteered at St. Pius X Catholic Church in various capacities, Meals on Wheels and at Coeur d’Alene Homes.
Donna loved God, family and all people. She enjoyed camping, especially with her grandkids, swimming, hiking, exploring and traveling.
She is survived by husband, David Kempton of Coeur d’Alene; father Donald Lohman of Coeur d’Alene; son Darrell and wife Teresa, and grandchildren Melody, Matthew and Maxton; and daughter Jean and husband Lee, and grandchildren Alex and Aurora.
Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 9, 2017, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 625 E. Haycraft Ave., with inurnment at St. Pius X Columbarium following the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of North Idaho, Meals on Wheels or St. Pius X Catholic Church.
