Cardinals go 3-3 on Florida trip

CLERMONT, Fla. — North Idaho College beat West Virginia Wesleyan 4-3 in eight innings and lost to Kalamazoo Valley 10-9 on Sunday to finish 3-3 in its season-opening softball trip to Florida.
Nikki Miller went 3 for 4 with a homer and three RBIs for NIC against West Virginia Wesleyan.
Against Kalamazoo Valley, Kalyna Korok drove in four runs and Kayla Curtan went 3 for 4 with three doubles.
On Saturday, NIC beat Muskegon 5-4 and lost to Mercyhurst Northeast 10-4.
NIC opens Northwest Athletic Conference play March 17 with a doubleheader at Treasure Valley in Ontario, Ore.
