Traffic alert issued for Whitefish water repair
Daily Inter Lake | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 9 years, 6 months AGO
Traffic on Spokane Avenue in Whitefish will be hampered Tuesday as the Public Works Department fixes a water leak at the intersection of Spokane Avenue and East Ninth Street.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane on Spokane Avenue between East Eighth Street and Riverside Avenue. U.S. 93 becomes Spokane Avenue as the highway goes through Whitefish. It is the main thoroughfare bringing northbound traffic into Whitefish.
The intersection of East Ninth Street and Spokane Avenue will be closed during the repairs, according to City Manager Adam Hammatt.
Work will begin at 8 a.m. and is expected to be complete by 4 p.m.
The water leak on Spokane follows on the heels of a major water main break on Baker Avenue a week ago that also impacted north-south traffic.
