Chamber to host street revision program

SANDPOINT — The Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce would like to welcome area residents and businesses to the monthly General Membership Luncheon, on Thursday, March 9. The luncheon will be held from noon-1 p.m., with registration starting at 11:45 a.m. at the Community Room of the Columbia Bank Building, 414 Church St., in Sandpoint.
Public Works Director/City Engineer Ryan Luttmann will be speaking about the street reversion in downtown Sandpoint from one-way to two-way traffic. The future plan includes the complete reconstruction of First Avenue and Cedar Street in the downtown area, a new signal at Church and Fifth, and the removal of traffic signals at Second/Cedar; Pine/First; and Pine/Fifth.
Luttmann will be speaking about the timeline of the projects and how the city is incorporating feedback to reduce the impact to downtown business owners and residents.
Luttmann joined the city of Sandpoint as the Public Works director/city engineer in February 2016. He received his degree in engineering from the University of Idaho in 1997 and has worked in both the private and public sectors throughout his career. Luttmann has worked on the planning, design and review of public infrastructure projects throughout the area.
The Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce would like to encourage everyone in the community to attend the luncheon. The cost is $15 for chamber members, $20 for non-chamber members and includes lunch catered by Tango Café.
