A recent letter to the Bee regarding the school levy made reference to the author being an officer of VFW Post 2453 in Sandpoint.

I want to dispel any notion that the VFW supports any political position as it regards to local politics. We, as an organization, do not take political positions. We do support our local schools in the form of a food program, in which we adopted an entire school; and we provide scholarships to deserving students. Our primary goal is to support needy veterans, specifically here in Bonner County. I apologize for any position that may have been misconstrued.
