Maritime adventures on wooden ships, especially on pirate ships, have always inspired the imaginations of seafarers and landlubbers alike.

Come and listen to our own local pirate and professional woodworker, “Capt.” Dan Mimmack, as he shares the art of craftsmanship in the restoring, building, and sailing of his authentic pirate-style ship, the Wind Spirit. Mimmack is also the founder and long-time designer/builder for Northwest Handmade Furniture and Gallery, and has been a member of Inland Northwest Chapter of the Antique Classic Boat Society for 14 years.

The program is held at Ivano’s Ristorante, 102 S. First Ave., Sandpoint, from 6-8 p.m.

The Conversation is a free monthly event with the intent to support the artist community by cultivating conversations on and about the creative processes for all the visual, literary, and performing artists in and around Sandpoint.

Questions? Contact Mary at 208-263-1592. The Conversation is graciously sponsored by the non-profit Creations for Sandpoint on the Cedar St. Bridge

The next Conversation will be Wednesday, April 5, and feature the Carousel of Smiles seeking artist input at Ivano’s. The program will take place from 6-8 p.m.
