POST FALLS — Theresa MacLennan has taken her nonprofit and fundraising leadership experience to the Jacklin Arts and Cultural Center.

MacLennan is the new executive director of the nonprofit Post Falls center.

"It is exciting for me to start this new challenge," she said. "I look forward to working with the community to further develop the JACC’s already extensive arts and culture community offerings.

"It’s my honor to be a part of the JACC’s ambitious agenda this year of revitalizing the Friends of the JACC program, engaging the community in listening sessions to learn what activities they would like to see offered at the JACC and to be the host at this historic, warm and welcoming venue."

Kerri Thoreson was acting as interim director during the six-month hiring process.

MacLennan most recently served as executive director for the Centennial Trail Foundation in Coeur d’Alene.

"Theresa will bring leadership and creativity to the center’s programs," said Jerry Keane, JACC board chairman. "She has served nonprofits at many levels and has a breadth of perspective and experience."

MacLennan, wife of North Idaho College President Richard MacLennan, earned a master's degree in education from Oregon State University and a bachelor's degree in arts from Willamette University in Salem, Ore.

Her experience includes more than 25 years of management, administration, communications and marketing experience, many of those in the nonprofit sector.

MacLennan was executive director for Garrett Trails in Garrett County, Maryland for five years before moving to this area last July.
