Douglas A. Reed, 74, loving husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away peacefully March 6, 2017, at home surrounded by family. Doug was born May 8, 1942, in Mesa, Colo. He was the 12th of 13 children born to Bill and Hazel Reed.
Doug and Joyce met in Smelterville, Idaho, in 1963. They married just six months later in Kellogg, Idaho. They lived in the Silver Valley, then in Rose Lake until 1980 when they moved to Post Falls and resided in Rathdrum and Post Falls until the time of his passing. Doug enjoyed many things including playing guitar, writing songs, dancing, yard sales, watching Gonzaga (Go Zags), watching the Seahawks, Wheelin’ and Dealin’, and attending church with his loving family. He was an active member of the Lions Club, Grange and founder of Christian Cowboy Balladeers of North Idaho.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 53 years, Joyce; son Mark (Tonja); son Tom (Tara); daughter Rebecca (Jim); brother David (Dorothy); sister-in-law Teresa (Leroy); and grandchildren Justin, Shawn (Ariel), Eric, Scott (Nichole), Zach, Nicole (Matt), Luke, Katelyn and Molly.
