Fish, Wildlife and Parks employees reportedly found a man’s body in the Kootenai River near Troy around noon Wednesday.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office identified the man as Trevor Applegate. Applegate, 41, of Bonner’s Ferry, Idaho, was reported missing Dec. 6 after slipping while hiking, and fell into the river just below Kootenai Falls, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

According to Sheriff Roby Bowe, drowning is the most likely cause of death.
