The Plains gym was filled this weekend with Little Guy wrestlers, their parents, family, friends, coaches, officials, and spectators. There were wrestlers from 13 western Montana and north Idaho communities present, including Plains/Hot Springs, Thompson Falls, Missoula, Frenchtown, Corvallis, Clark Fork, Bonner, Hamilton, Lolo, Darby, Salmon, Stevenensville, and Florence.

The juniors wrestled on Friday night, starting at 5:30 p.m. and used two mats on the gym floor. Saturday, the wrestling began at 9:00 a.m. with a total of eight mats, each holding a match at the same time. The gym was stnding room only on Saturday with many parents, wrestlers, family, and friends wondering where they could sit to watch the wrestlers. The wrestlers were busy on all eight wrestling mats on Saturday, which made it a challenge to keep track of which weight class was wrestling where and when. There was large screen hanging from the ceiling that showed the weight classes currently wrestling and those who had completed their matches. The officials and referees were made up of volunteers from many places, including the Savage Horseman Wrestling team. Lisa Brown, President of Savage Little Guy wrestling and many of the volunteers were busy Saturday getting the wrestlers scores into be calculated. Many of the top placing winners from this tournament will be going on to compete at the state tournament.
