BONNERS FERRY — With the Distinguished Young Women preparing to take stage next month, the Bonners Ferry High School Gents put on their own spoof talent show that would’ve given Saturday Night Live cast members a run for their money.

About 500 people packed the Bonners Ferry High School Becker Auditorium Friday night to cheer on the 15 seniors who volunteered to be contestants in the annual Mr. Bonners Ferry High School pageant fundraiser. The Badgers earned $2,700 toward their senior trip to Fairmont Hot Springs in May.

What was supposed to be a spoof surprisingly revealed 15 very talented dancers, comedians, and actors, who pulled off on-point performances over and over again throughout the night.

Unfortunately, the show had to end, and judges were faced with a tough decision. But when all of the scores were tallied, it was Isaac Lavala who racked up the most points during the evening’s performance, earning him the coveted title, Mr. Bonners Ferry High School.

First Runner Up, David Cossairt, was a close second, also earning the Talent Award and the Advisor’s Low Maintenance Award.

Ethan Wilson was successful in charming both the audience and judges, earning Second Runner Up for his performances.

Winners in all of the categories are as follows:

Self Expression: TJ Smith

Lip Sync: Nick Sabin

Talent: David Cossairt

Fitness: Evan Wasmer

Spirit: Mic Sabin

Coaches Award: Nick Sabin

Advisors’ Low Maintenance Award: David Cossairt

The Mr. BFHS program would like to thank all who helped make the event successful:

Judges Mike Davis, Debbie Davis, Jennifer Mackey, Alison Henslee, and Jenny Ansley. The senior class advisors were Linda Hall, Janis Tucker, Dawn Carpenter, and Laura Anderson. The Mr. BFHS participants also want to thank the Distinguished Young Women Forget-Me-Nots, the technical crew members Abby Eliassen, Amar Fischer, and Jamie Cromwell.

Appreciation was extended to the following sponsors: Sugar Plum Floral, Iron Mike’s Gym, Soul Shine, Mi Pueblo Mexican Restaurant, Vinyl Expressions, Mountain West Bank, Homestead Coffee, The Bonners Ferry Veterinarian Clinic, Bee-fit Studios, Pam Hittle, and Rawlings Community Counseling, and last, but definitely not least, the Mr. Bonners Ferry High School Masters of Ceremony, Board Trustees David Brinkman and Ron MacDonald.
