Nasewytewa said he “just liked running” and he utilized the 10K run to prepare for the Ronan track season.
“I am just getting ready to run track for Ronan on Monday,” Nasewytewa said.
Moiese resident Nicole Jarvis finished third overall but was the first female to cross the finish line in the 10K Challenge.
Jarvis said she “enjoyed the course” but her main objective was to try to keep up with Nasewytewa.
“The course was great, it was flat, and that is what I am used to running on is a little bit of gravel and dirt,” Jarvis said. “I was just trying to keep up with Isaiah.”
Jarvis said one of the challenges is “avoiding potholes” on this particular course.
“Sometimes you are avoiding potholes and your ankles from slipping,” Jarvis said. “When you are on loose gravel, it is harder than turning in the pavement.”
Jarvis said she felt challenges like these are “fun.”
“I like doing these small town races and that really help benefit the track or cross country,” Jarvis said. “That is what I used to do in high school.”
