ST. IGNATIUS — Eureka struggled to score runs against Mission-Arlee-Charlo in a pair of losses on Friday.

Mission slowly pulled away in the first contest, holding Eureka scoreless in the first three innings while building a 3-0 lead. Eureka got on the board in the fourth, but eight Mission runs over the next three innings sealed the 11-1 win.

The Bulldogs began the second game with the same fire, scoring 12 runs in the first inning. Mission continued to pile on runs, winning 20-1 in three innings.

Erynn Thier had two of Eureka’s four hits in the series, going 1-3 overall. Avery Escobar and Ambrigh Smith notched the other hits, with Serena Marquart knocking in the only RBI for the Lions.

ANACONDA — Libby continued its strong start to the season, even with a thinner than usual roster, topping Anaconda on the road.

The Loggers got on the board early, scoring three runs in the first inning while building a 7-0 lead entering the bottom of the fifth inning.

Anaconda put four on the board in the fifth, but couldn’t get any closer as Libby pulled away late.

“We came out and scored a few runs early,” Libby coach Dean Thompson said. “They came back and hit the ball real well.”

Khalyn Hageness had a game-high two hits and two RBIs while picking up the win in the circle.
