The First Christian Church congregation is excited to welcome Dr. Steve Brown and his wife, Linda, as their new lead pastor and family.
Dr. Steve Brown came to Christ in his late 20s and immediately began serving God by joining the worship team at Scottsdale Bible Church in Scottsdale, Arizona. Brown played drums in the orchestra for 17 years and sang lead in a men’s quartet while he continued as the owner of a graphic arts and printing corporation.
As he was discipled by the senior pastor, he soon would begin teaching men’s Bible studies, leading Wednesday night services, and assuming pulpit fill-in responsibilities. He developed a discipleship curriculum for Christians that he taught in the church for many years and served two consecutive three-year terms as an elder in this mega church.
Pastor Brown joined the church as the pastor of evangelism and discipleship as he pursued his master’s of divinity degree. He graduated from Phoenix Seminary with highest honors.
Brown and his wife, Linda, were called by God to move to San Diego, where he served as the chancellor of Rock University and the pastor of discipleship. He personally taught thousands of disciples to make other disciples.
Pastor Brown was called by God to plant San Diego Bible Church approximately nine years ago where he served as the founding and lead pastor for seven years. He was then called by God to move to North Idaho with his wife, Linda, again by faith. Brown finished his doctorate of ministry this past year at Phoenix Seminary.
Brown owns a working ranch in Cocolalla, and he is an avid outdoorsman who loves to hunt and fish. His greatest passion, however, remains teaching the word of God and raising up disciples who make other disciples.
”This is also our church mission,” First Christian Church officials said in a press release. “We are excited to be able to move forward as a church sharing this mission with Dr. Steve Brown as our leader.”
