COEUR d’ALENE — Turkey talent scouts, search no more.

Turkeys and More coordinator Evalyn Adams announced Wednesday that longtime local musician Mike Bolan has gladly accepted the position of volunteer director for the Turkeys and More Showcase of Talent in September.

"Mike is a fantastic guitar player and traveled the world for over two decades playing music with several different groups," Adams told The Press. "And of course, he has played with the Fabulous Shadows for many years."

The Turkeys and More Talent Showcase will benefit the Community Action Partnership Coeur d'Alene Food Bank.

Bolan said when he saw The Press article Monday about the nonprofit seeking a volunteer director, he immediately called Adams.

"I donate to the food bank fairly regularly. I'm an old hippie, I'm a lifelong believer in feeding people," Bolan said. "When you're working with the right team of people, this stuff is really fun."

Audition dates have not yet been set. The showcase is scheduled for Sept. 29 at the Kroc Center.

"That's a great facility that is pretty much painless for putting on a show. They know what they're doing," Bolan said. "I can tell this is going to be fun."
