Opening day a success

The opening weekend of the lowland lake fishing season is two weeks passed. Studying the results shows Grant County lakes above the two fish per angler mark, except for Vic Meyers Lake which was at 1.86.
The opening day always depends upon the weather. This year the weather mostly cooperated and anglers were abundant.
This is a super time of year to take young anglers to local waters for a chance to catch some finned creatures. There is no need to head out super early, say 5 a.m., unless the family has young anglers who are so anxious to wet a line they can’t wait.
