MOSES LAKE — A Royal City man is facing charges after a counterfeit $100 bill was reportedly found in his pocket moments after he was allegedly caught trespassing in a Moses Lake residence on Friday.

About noon, a woman contacted MACC Dispatch after she reportedly found a man, alleged to be Mauricio Guerrero-Segoviano, 25, of Royal City, inside her residence in the 1000 block of Vandenburg Loop, in the Larson Community.

The woman reportedly confronted Guerrero-Segoviano, who fled the home and went into a residence across the street. The woman described the suspect as a Hispanic male in his 30s wearing a blue and white striped shirt, blue jeans, a backwards baseball cap and sunglasses, according to information provided by the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the area and took Guerrero-Segoviano into custody, because of his resemblance to the description of the suspect. A counterfeit $100 bill was reportedly found in Guerrero-Segoviano’s pants pocket by deputies.

“The home resident’s detailed description of the suspect gave deputies a clear picture of who they were looking for and making him easy to find,” Sheriff Tom Jones said. “Her attention to detail during a scary moment helped put this suspect in jail.”

Guerrero-Segoviano was booked into the Grant County Jail for investigation of first-degree criminal trespassing and possession of counterfeit bills.
