HAYDEN — Canine citizens have a new place to play in Hayden.

The city of Hayden and the Hayden Parks, Recreation and Community Events Commission will be dedicating Hayden's newest park — Pawfoot Park — during a ceremony in Croffoot Park at noon Friday.

Everyone on two legs or four is welcome to join the celebration. The event will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, words from Hayden Mayor Steve Griffitts and a moment to "release the hounds" to officially open Hayden's first dog park.

"We're super excited about it," Suzanne Cano, recreation and community events director for the city of Hayden, said Tuesday. "We've had quite a few comments from the public about wanting it, and to be able to make it happen in a relatively short amount of time is pretty exciting."

Pawfoot (a pet-centric wordplay on Croffoot) is just more than an acre in size and is located in Croffoot Park, 1347 W. Lancaster Road, Hayden. Refreshments will be served after the ceremony.
