Badgers beat Priest River on Senior Day

BONNERS FERRY — The Badger baseball team continued to roll through league by defeating the Priest River Spartans on Senior Day 14 – 1 in 5 innings.
Bonners Ferry started the scoring off in the first inning after Brady Bateman hit a deep fly ball to center that was misplayed. He later scored when Nick Sabin reached on an error by the third baseman. The Badgers added 5 runs in the second inning on only two hits and two errors from the Spartans. Brady Bateman hit a RBI sac fly to right field followed by Chris Sabin’s RBI single to center. Seth Bateman laid down a beautiful drag bunt RBI single in the inning as well.
Bonners Ferry posted 6 more runs in the 3rd inning and 2 more in the 4th inning to secure the inning shortened game. Three senior boys (Jesse Dunham, Nick Sabin and Kevin Gray) pitched in the with Dunham recording the victory. Chris Sabin led the team with three hits including a double and his brother Nick went 2 for 2 with 2 runs scored, 3 RBI and a double. Jesse Dunham also had a double in the game and 2 RBI.

BONNERS FERRY — The Badgers were down 11-3 after the top of the fifth inning and staged a dramatic 20-14 win against the Kellogg Wildcats in IML league play. The win propels their record to 3-2 in league and 3-4 overall.
Tigers sweep Badgers, take control of IML
BONNERS FERRY — The Bonners Ferry Badgers baseball team was swept by the Timberlake Tigers in IML league play last Tuesday, 16-2 and 9-1. The losses essentially put Timberlake in the driver’s seat for their first IML league title in more than four years.
