Kalispell mother dies in crash on U.S. 2

A 34-year-old Kalispell woman killed in a collision Thursday night has been identified, according to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office.
April Elizabeth Barrows died in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 2 West near the Gold Country Casino just after 8:30 p.m.
Barrows was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other passenger in Barrow’s vehicle was her 1-year-old daughter. The baby was in a child safety seat and was transported to Kalispell Regional Medical Center where she was admitted in stable condition. Barrows was wearing a seat belt.
The driver of the second vehicle was uninjured.
The crash is under investigation by the Montana Highway Patrol.

Baby comes home for Mother's Day
The nurse placed the newborn on his mother’s leg. For about two minutes, the Kalispell mother felt his skin on hers and watched his eyes, her hand on his back. For the next few weeks, that would be the last time she would see her son without tubes in his nose.
