Moving anywhere can be a hassle, a problem one of Whitefish’s newer businesses hopes to help fix.

Two Men and a Truck, a national moving company with 350 locations worldwide, is opening its second Montana franchise location on U.S. 93 South next to Howie’s Tire and Alignment.

The company started more than 30 years ago and prioritizes the customer care aspect by customizing moving services to each user’s needs.

Eric Heslop, along with his two brothers, Ben and Brian, and their father, Jim, will be running the Whitefish location along with Hugh Smith, who for the last two months has been getting the building ready for a May opening.

All from Alabama, the Heslop family discovered Whitefish by accident. After their luggage was lost at Glacier Park International Airport on the way to Fernie, Alberta, the family took the time to explore the area. They fell in love, and for the last 15 years they’ve traveled back and forth, splitting the year between the South and the mountains.

“So we thought that’d be a great place to start a family business in,” Heslop said.

While Heslop will remain in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, his brother, Ben, and Smith will oversee the shop here in Whitefish. So far the process to get the building ready has included adding new carpeting, painting, replacing the trim and repairing lights.

Outside the building is the large white truck with the company’s logo depicting two men in the front seats of a large truck, a familiar image further east near the businesses headquarters in Michigan, but one less recognized out West. Smith said by helping to make moving as easy as possible for Flathead Valley residents, he thinks the company’s philosophy will catch on in Montana.

“A move is a stressful period of time that you’re going through, whether you like it or not. We go the extra mile, and then another extra mile to give you the extra service,” he said.

Two Men and a Truck primarily services moves in Flathead, Lake, Lincoln and Sanders counties. For more information on the business, visit https://twomenandatruck.com.
