Maybe you’ve been in need of an ice resurfacer? Or you’ve been in search of an office desk and chair? Or looking for a mini-fridge and microwave?

The city of Whitefish is placing a few unique and rather standard items on the auction block after moving into the new City Hall building.

The auction is set for Wednesday, May 24 at 5:30 p.m. at interim City Hall at 1005 Baker Ave.

“With the move to City Hall we’re selling any items that are unneeded and some equipment,” Finance Director Dana Smith said.

City offices moved from interim City Hall and from the Depot Park building into the new City Hall.

The Parks and Recreation department is getting rid of the Olympia 3000 ice resurfacer — or Zamboni as most folks refer to the machine that cleans and smooths an ice rink.

Most of the auction list would do well to outfit an office space. There’s desks, office chairs, filling cabinets, conference tables, cubicles and three-ring binders on the list.

Coming from the Council Chambers, there’s also more than 80 light green fabric stacking chairs available. And an item that has seen many a person comment before Council — one oak lectern for sale.

A few vehicles made the sale list — a 1985 Ford plow truck, a 1988 dump truck, a 1982 Ford Grumman water tender, a 2001 Ford Ranger pickup and a 1970 Honda trail motorcycle.

A few surprises may even pop up in the miscellaneous category — any item that city departments decide they do not need to move to City Hall will be also put up for auction.

The city has retained Roshon’s Auction Service to run the auction. The city will receive the proceeds of the auction after the costs are deducted.

The city held a similar auction in September 2015 prior to the demolition of the historic City Hall building. That sale netted the city $25,000.
