A long season of track and field has culminated into a trip to Laurel, Montana for six Mineral County athletes who have qualified for State to be held May 26 and 27. Clark Fork’s Hailey Kelly, Griffin Pluth and Emma Duboise will join St. Regis’ Brandon Managhan, Madison Hill and Brock Cantrell-Field. The top five competitors qualify for State.

Divisionals were held in Frenchtown on May 18 and 19 with the girls Clark Fork team placing 9th with a score of 8.5 on Thursday. The boys placed 18th with a score of 3, and the St. Regis boys tied for 10th place with Valley Christian with a score of 12. On Friday the Clark Fork girls placed 11th with a score of 17 and St. Regis placed 16th with 10. The St. Regis boys placed 13th with a score of 13 and the Clark Fork boys placed 19th with a score of 3.

Kelly placed third in javelin with a jump of 118-10 and she also tied for fifth place in high jump with Alex Bohlman from Seeley-Swan with jumps of 4-10.

The Clark Fork 400 meter relay team missed State by a breath with a time of 53.49. Arlee took the fifth place slot with a time of 53.04. In pole vault, Emma Duboise, also with Clark Fork placed second with a jump of 8-06.00. Teammate Madison Mask tied for sixth with Charlo Taylor McCready with jumps of 8-00.00. St. Regis runner, Madison Hill took third place in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.91 and she also placed fourth in long jump with 15-07.50.

Brock Cantrell-Field also from St. Regis will be traveling to State with second place in discus with 150-00. He also placed sixth in shot put with 40-08.50. Teammate Brandon Managhan placed fourth in high jump with 5-8. Clark Fork’s Griffin Pluth will also travel to State for placing fifth in the 3200 meter race with a time of 10:35.56. Teammate Jesse Shaske missed a trip to State by hundredths of a second in the 800 meter race with score of 2:05.62. He was beat by James DeTienne from Hot Springs with 2:05.60.
