WHS students take top honors at state band festival

Student musicians from the region recently participated in the Western State Solo and Ensemble Festival in Missoula.
The festival held May 5-6 featured students who received superior ratings at the district level festival. Participants were judged on the quality of their performance as either superior, excellent, good, fair or poor on a 1 to 5 scale.
Results for Whitefish students:
- Superior band solos: Brendan Gibson, oboe; Hunter Grimes, flute; Savannah Krause, flute; Jessica Henson, flute.
- Excellent band solos: Jolene Green, tenor sax; Eric Holdhusen, trumpet.
- Superior band ensembles: Marty Anderson and Savannah Krause, horn and flute duet; Jade Greenberg and Adia Saurey, horn duet; Eric Holdhusen, Jessica Young and Josiah Holien, trumpet trio; Bradlee Anderson, Megan Archibald, Jasmine Reese and Ella VanVlack, saxophone quartet; Jackson Carson, Ryan Galvan, Ben Gentry, Elijah Harnar, Tucker Harrison, Eric Holdhusen, Talha Idiz, Dakota Johnson, Ammann Koch-Ford, Caden Means, Erik Miller, Anwar Mirza, Port Nugent, Ethan Potthoff, Wyatt Scott and Myah Strauser, percussion ensemble.
