SANDPOINT — Whether you’re trying to beat your best time, or just out for some fun with the whole family, the annual Bay Trail Fun Run offers something for everyone.

The event takes place at 9 a.m. Sunday, June 11, in front of Trinity at City Beach Restaurant, 406 Bridge St., in Sandpoint. Registration is now available online at pobtrail.org and kids 12 and under are free but must register.

The event is open to both competitive runners as well as walkers out to enjoy the scenery. All participants will relish the stunning views of Lake Pend d’Oreille, Sand Creek, and surrounding white-capped mountains while running or walking along either 5 K or 10 K shoreline courses.

Festivities include awards for top finishers in each age division, a great silent auction as well as a cool race T-shirt, water bottle and assorted freebies and coupons for all registered participants!

The run is sponsored by the Friends of the Pend d’Oreille Bay Trail, Idaho Conservation League and Trinity at City Beach Restaurant. Proceeds fund efforts to steward, improve and expand the Pend d’Oreille Bay Trail.

All runners, walkers, strollers and lovers of the trail are welcome to join in the fun of the Bay Trail Fun Run. The route — which starts at Sandpoint’s City Beach — takes you out and back on the mostly flat and unpaved Pend d’Oreille Bay Trail. 5K competitors will finish where they started, in front of Trinity at City Beach. 10K competitors continue for an additional out-and-back leg on the paved byway trails that curve along the east shore of Sand Creek.

The Friends are still seeking businesses and individuals to sponsor the trail run. A variety of sponsorship levels are available. Interested sponsors can contact the Friends at 208- 946-7586 or email them at friends@pobtrail.org.

Cost to register for the run is $25 before June 10 and $30 on the day of the race. Sign up by May 24 to guarantee your correct race T-shirt size.

More information and registration available at pobtrail.org or call 208-265-9565.
