Frissell breaking records in pursuit of state title

Polson Lady Pirates runner Bea Frissell has rewritten the school record books on her journey towards qualifying for state at last Friday and Saturday’s Western A Divisional at the Corvallis Community Events Center.
Frissell was just one Pirate that punched a ticket to the MHSA Class A & C meet May 26-27 at the Laurel Sports Complex.
Frissell, who reset a PHS 1600 mark formerly held by Lindsey Campbell from 2004 at the Lake Country Track Meet, in Ronan May 2, and reset Mesa Starke’s 3200 record at the Top 10 track meet in Missoula, is now ready for state.
Frissell will compete at state in the 800 meter, 1600 meter, and the 3200 meter race.
Frissell will not be alone as several of her Lady Pirate teammates also qualified for state.
Brown qualifies for state
Polson runner Shaeley Brown qualified for state in the 100, 200 and the 400-meter dash.
Brown also qualified in the 4X100 relay along with teammates Shayla Olson, Payton Dupuis, and Gwen Reese.
She will join teammates Sitter, Olson, and Frissell in the 4X400 meter relay.
Olson qualified individually in the 100-meter hurdles and the 300-meter hurdles.
Sitter, Crowl qualify in distance events
Molly Sitter and Naima Crowl qualified for the distance events with top-10 finishes at the Western A Divisional at the Corvallis Community Events Center.
Sitter and Crowl both will compete in the 1600 and 3200-meter race.
Gwen Seeley also competed and qualified in the 3200-meter race.
Wilson, Rensvold excel on the track
Polson runners Matthew Rensvold and Tanner Wilson have been tied together in every athletic endeavor, and track and field is no different.
Wilson qualified in the 100, 200 and 400.
Wilson teamed up with Danny DiGiallonardo, Rensvold, and Kyle Druyvestein to qualify in the 4X100 relay with a new PHS school record that stood since 1984.
In the 4X400 relay, Connor Lanier, Quin Stewart, Wilson, and Dugan Davis also will be at state as a team.
Rensvold qualified in the 100, 200, and 400-meter relay.
Danny DiGiallonardo qualified in the 100-meter, 200-meter, 300 hurdles, and long jump, individually.
Quin Stewart qualified in the 800-meter and 1600-meter, as an individual.
Connor Lanier qualified in the 110-meter hurdles and triple jump.
