Softball Libby softball wins second game in B-C state tournament

The Libby Lady Loggers Friday morning beat Huntley Project 13-3, according to a post to Libby High School’s Facebook page.

The team will play the St. Ignatius/Florence winner at 4 p.m.

The victory is the team’s second consecutive at the Class B-C state softball tournament in Frenchtown. On Thursday, Khalyn Hageness tossed a 2-hitter, tripled and drove in three runs while Abbey Ennenga and Madisen Monigold both homered as Libby crushed Great Falls Central 11-1 in first-round action.

Libby scored in every inning but the fifth and outhit Central 12-2.

Monigold, 3 for 4, and Ennenga, 1 for 3, had two RBIs each.

Hageness had two hits, along with Alyssa Marshall.

Ennenga homered in the third with two runners on to left field.

Monigold, on the second pitch of the game, homered to left field.

Hageness fanned three batters and walked one.
