Friday: Libby falls to Florence in B-C state softball semis

FRENCHTOWN — Libby came up short against Florence, losing 5-2 in the semifinals of the Class B-C state softball tournament on Friday.
Both teams had five hits.
Libby led 3-1 after four innings, but Florence scored a run in the fifth and seventh and two in the sixth to pull it out.
Linsey Walker doubled and Sammee Bradeen tripled for Libby.
The Loggers advanced earlier in the day by thumping Huntley Project 13-3.
Libby will face Mission today at 10 a.m. in the third-place game. That winner moves on to face Florence in the title game at noon of the double-elimination tournament.
