Paro, DeTienne showcase talent at state

All season the Hot Springs boys’ track team has been filled with individual accolades.

Trevor Paro once again showed everyone why he has developed a reputation of being considered one of the best all-around athletes in the Mission Valley area.

Paro finished second in triple jump, fourth in long jump, and fifth in the 110-meter hurdles. Paro recorded a leap of 43, feet, 2.25 in the triple jump and levitated to a jump of 20 feet, 8 inches in the triple jump at the Class-C state track meet Friday and Saturday at the Laurel Sports Complex in Laurel High School.

Paro is also known for his speed, having scored a touchdown in every single football game he ever played in during his career at Hot Springs.

Paro’s results in track weren’t much different.

Paro recorded a time of 17.16 in the 110-meter hurdles.

James DeTienne is another Savage Heat athlete that has established a reputation for his distance running.

DeTienne finished 16th in the 800-meter race, recording a time of 2 minutes, 14.73 seconds.

Addison Mueller placed 15th in discus and 14th in shot put. Mueller recorded a throw of 115 feet, four inches in discus and in shot put recorded a throw of 39 feet, 7.50 inches.

Connor Perry also finished 8th in shot put with a throw of 43 feet, 7 inches.
