Michael Lee Galloway, 63
Michael Lee Galloway, 63, of Pinehurst, Idaho, passed away Oct. 19, 2017 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, after a short battle with melanoma skin cancer. Mike was born Jan. 25, 1954 in Long Beach, Calif. to Doloris Burbine-Lerno and Frank Casey. Mike graduated from Fallbrook High School, and then attended college for one year.
Mike had many talents; he was a plumber, golf professional, carpenter, builder, truck driver and greens keeper. Mike moved from California to Coeur d’Alene in 1987. He loved it here, and also had lived in Weiler, Idaho before that. Mike loved to play golf, fish and hunt, along with spending time with his faithful dog Lucy. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Later in life he really enjoyed gardening. He had a great sense of humor, and helped many, many people. He was the man you would call if you needed help with anything at anytime.
A couple of Mike’s favorite jobs were working for Albright’s in Lewiston as a truck driver, and in the last couple years he was a greenskeeper at Pinehurst Golf Course. He retired last year at age 62, hoping to spend more time with his family and to go fishing.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Leora Lerno; his uncle, David Randsburger; his younger brother, Gary Galloway; his dad, Dave Galloway, and this last August, his step-dad, Rich Burbine passed away. Mike is survived by his fiancée of 25 years, Cindy Magnus; his mother, Deloris Burbine of Post Falls, Idaho; his sons, Travis and Marcy Galloway of Post Falls and George Galloway of Coeur d’Alene Idaho. George is still in the service and stationed in Texas. Also surviving him are his daughters, Mellisa (Kevin) Rogers of Gardnerville, Nev., and Katrina (Nick) Fitting of Coeur d’Alene; step-daughter, Angela (Joey) Braun of Moscow, Idaho and stepson, John (Amanda) Padula of Coeur d’Alene. Mike often boasted about his 17 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He’s also survived by his father, Frank (Diane) Casey; his stepbrothers, Matt and Mike Burbine; his aunt, Dorothy Randsburger and uncle, Paul (Linda) Lerno. He also has many cousins, and nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his two ex-wives, Trudy Lewis of Spirit Lake and Robin Clark of Nevada.
His service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4, at the Altar Church, followed by coffee and dessert downstairs. Mike is and will be very missed by his family. He filled a lot of hearts with happiness and was loved very much.
