Following an initial burst of winter weather on Wednesday, the Flathead Valley is bracing for another shot of accumulating snow Thursday and Friday.

The National Weather Service in Missoula has issued a winter storm watch through Friday morning for the Flathead and Mission valleys. In the Flathead, total snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches, with localized amounts up to 9 inches, are expected. For the Mission Valley, total snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches are expected. More than a foot of snow is possible in the mountains.

Commuters should be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities, the Weather Service warns.

Low temperatures Thursday and Friday will likely dip into the teens.
