Avalanche expert to speak in Libby at Simple Simon Pizza on Nov. 9

Friends of Scotchman Peaks Wilderness invites winter recreationalists of all sorts to learn essential facts about winter travel safety from avalanche expert Jon Jeresek.

Jeresek, a retired Kootenai National Forest avalanche forecaster and a member of Turner Mountain Ski Patrol, will share his many years of avalanche and winter travel expertise beginning 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, at Simple Simon Pizza at 30270 Highway 2 in Libby.

Admission is free and Friends of Scotchman Peaks will provide the pizza. Beer from Cabinet Mountain Brewing will also be available.

Friends of Scotchman Peaks Wilderness will also be selling raffle tickets for a pair of Tracker avalanche beacons.
