The Western News Cricket A. Orsborn of Troy on Monday pleaded not guilty to two felony charges of criminal possession of dangerous drugs and one felony charge of criminal possession of dangerous drugs with intent to distribute in Montana 19th Judicial District Court in Libby.

According to court documents, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Detective Nate Scofield and Sgt. Boyd White on Oct. 20, 2017 stopped a vehicle, driven by Jeremy Goucher, in which Orsborn was a passenger.

After applying for and receiving a warrant to search the vehicle and it’s contents, Scofield found three packages of methamphetamine, weighing 52.9 grams, in the purse Orsborn was holding at the time of the traffic stop.

Court documents note that the amount of methamphetamine Scofield found was more than just “user” amounts.

Orsborn’s public defender attorney, Liam Gallagher, requested of the court that Orsborn be released on her own recognizance. District Court Judge Matt Cuffe granted the request.

The conditions of Orsborn’s release remain the same as those she was given in Justice Court — she is to sign a waiver of extradition and wear a drug patch to monitor any drug usage. The patch is removed and tested every two weeks.

Orsborn’s next court appearance, an onmibus hearing, is Jan. 3, 2018.
