The Plains Trotters were successful at the recent 14C District volleyball tournament in Charlo over the weekend, securing a trip to divisionals as the No. 2 seed.
The girls had a little up and down action on the court that kept the town on edge.
After a bye for the first game, the girls fell 3-1 to Arlee, however it wasn’t down and out.
Friday morning they went up against Hot Springs and took the win 3-0 to move on to face Noxon.
The Trotters took Noxon 3-1 on the court and then topped Charlo 3-2 to reach the finals against Arlee.
The Trotters came out in second place overall after Arlee won the match 3-1 at the final buzzer.
Plains progresses to the Western C Divisional tournament Nov. 2-4 at the Manhattan Christian Memorial Evens Center in Churchhill. They will open tourney play against No. 1 seed Seeley.
While Hot Springs played well for the season, the team couldn’t secure a winning streak at the championships and finished up their season before the semi-finals.
The young team is sure to come back in force next season as they will only lose Stacy Gray, the team’s only senior player.
Noxon came out in fourth place overall to finish the season.
The girls were defeated by Plains, who progressed to the final championship game.
