Adams County elections pretty much decided

RITZVILLE — With an estimated 40 ballots left to be counted, results from Tuesday night’s general election in Adams County are all but decided.
The Adams County Auditor’s Office reports a total of 2,199 ballots have been counted so far, with the next scheduled ballot count set for Monday at 4 p.m. The results are set to be certified by the state auditor’s office November 28.
Although the majority of the races in Adams County were uncontested, a couple of the races were close and a Wednesday ballot count painted a clearer picture with regard to how the races will play out.
Contested results and measures from the general election are as follows:
House Bill 1597 (statewide race, regarding the food fish excise tax rate)
Adams County: Repealed, 1,455 votes, 75.19 percent/Maintained, 480 votes, 24.81 percent.
State: Repealed, 588,663 votes, 56.88 percent/Maintained, 446,195 votes, 43.12 percent.
House Bill 2163 (statewide race)
Adams County: Repealed, 1,602 votes, 82.15 percent/Maintained, 348 votes, 17.85 percent.
State: Repealed, 667,901 votes, 64.6 percent/Maintained, 365,970 votes, 35.4 percent.
House Bill 2242 (statewide race)
Adams County: Repealed, 1,476 votes, 74.77 percent/Maintained, 498 votes, 25.23 percent.
State: Repealed, 640,293 votes, 61.51 percent/Maintained, 400,672 votes, 38.49 percent.
LaCrosse School District Proposition No. 1 Replacement Capital Levy (multi-county race)
Adams County: Yes, 5 votes, 100 percent/No, 0 votes, 0 percent.
Whitman County: Yes, 99 votes, 61.49 percent/No, 62 votes, 38.51 percent.
Othello School District, Director No. 1
Kevin Gilbert, 468 votes, 48.35 percent.
Jenn Stevenson, 500 votes, 51.65 percent.
Town of Lind Mayor
Paula Bell, 149 votes, 73.76 percent.
Jamie Schmunk, 53 votes, 26.24 percent.
