STRIKE FOR AN 8-HOUR DAY
About fifty men employed in the Humbird lumber camps 8 and 9 quit work Saturday and went on strike for an 8-hour day. The camps recently started up with full crews after furnishing equipment made in accordance with the demands of the strikers last summer.
The 8-hour day has been a bone of contention between the operators and camp employes (sic). When the Bolin camps were started up the 8-hour day was granted to the match company’s employes. The other camp operators opened under the 10-hour day.
