MOSES LAKE — Three fuel thefts took place at Big Bend Community College’s campus during the last three weeks.
The thefts, one of which included a stolen car battery, reportedly occurred in the night hours in the parking lot on the south side of Viking Hall.
Campus safety officers will be upping their night patrols in all campus parking lots in an attempt to ward off and stop any potential thefts. People who notice suspicious persons or circumstances at the campus are encouraged to call 911 or BBCC Campus Safety at 509-793-2286.
“Protective measures: Please remember to secure your vehicle to the best of your ability, and to not leave any property inside the passenger compartment of the vehicle,” stated the college in a release. “If possible, park in or close to a well-lit area. During one of the fuel thefts, the suspect(s) cut the fuel line on the bottom of the vehicle in order to steal the fuel. Please look around your vehicle in the morning for signs of theft or tampering.”
