MOSES LAKE — A Moses Lake man was arrested late Thursday night after allegedly getting into a fight with his ex-girlfriend’s brothers.
About 11 p.m. Thursday night Moses Lake Police Department officers responded to a residence in the 700 block of South Grand Drive in reference to an argument over a child. Officers contacted Noe Alvarez, 22, of Moses Lake, at the residence and realized he was intoxicated and arguing with his ex-girlfriend about him trying to take their child, MLPD Capt. Mike Williams said.
Alvarez allegedly told police he wanted to go to jail and repeatedly asked what he needed to do to get arrested.
“Even offering to assault an officer if necessary (he didn’t). Alvarez had not committed a crime, so he was not arrested. After he calmed down, officers gave him a ride to another location at his request. Alvarez seemed grateful, even hugging the officer that gave him a ride,” Williams said.
Alvarez allegedly later returned to the residence and started fighting his ex-girlfriend’s brothers. Police arrived as Alvarez and a 23-year-old man were exchanging blows. The other male stopped when told to by police. Alvarez continued fighting, however, and was hit with a Taser by an officer.
Alvarez was taken into custody and booked into the Grant County Jail for residential burglary and fourth-degree assault. Alvarez was treated for injuries received in the fight with his ex-girlfriend’s brother.
