Barbara J. (Hamlet) Morse, 81
Barbara passed away Nov. 13, 2017, with her family around her in Boise, Idaho. She was born Oct. 14, 1936, in Spokane, Wash., the oldest of three daughters to Wes S. Hamlet and Henrietta (Dietz) Hamlet. She attended schools in Coeur d’Alene, graduating from CHS in 1954. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Idaho in 1958. She married her best friend, Donald Hanley Morse.
Barbara worked for the Coeur d’Alene Chamber of Commerce; the University of Idaho College of Law; Thaxter Interior, in Burley, Idaho; Herman Bedke Law Firm, in Burley, Idaho; Jerome County; Hart and Burdick Law Firm, in Jerome, Idaho; and retired from Langroise, Sullivan/Holland and Hart Law Firm, in Boise, Idaho. She was a member of Job’s Daughters, Bethel 7, Gamma Phi Beta Sorority and Daughter’s of the Nile.
Barbara and Don have two wonderful children, Renee Morse and Hanley Morse, and three grandchildren.
Don’s engineering took him where roads were being built in Idaho. After the U. of I., they lived in Sandpoint, Coeur d’Alene, Boise, Osburn, Burley, Jerome and Eagle. Together they lived their lives fully, traveled extensively and kept family their highest priority. Even though she was an avid reader, bridge player and always interested in history, she derived her greatest pleasure making a bunny rabbit cake and Christmas ornaments for all the children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and beyond, every year.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother and infant sister, and is survived by her husband of 61 years, Don, of Eagle, Idaho; daughter, Renee (Vaughn Knapp), of Boise, Idaho; son, Hanley (Julia), of Post Falls, Idaho; grandchildren, Carrie, Mike and Allen. She is also survived by her sisters, Betty (Olin) Davis and Donna (Jim) Runge, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and bonus sister, Judy (Ron) Bliven, of Everett, Wash., and their wonderful families.
A memorial get-together will be held in Boise, in the spring. The family will hold a private ceremony in Coeur d’Alene in the future.
She wishes to be remembered for her honesty and curiosity striving to live up to her Libra side, always seeking peace and harmony. In her memory, love one another.
