2 dead, 1 injured in Trout Creek shooting

One woman is dead and a man was sent to the hospital after a shooting near Trout Creek over the weekend.
According to Sanders County Sheriff Tom Rummel, the shooting suspect fled the scene and later died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The Sanders County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of two individuals who had been shot at a residence outside Trout Creek at 8:50 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25.
Upon arrival, deputies verified that a man and woman had been shot. The woman was deceased at the time deputies arrived, according to the Sheriff’s Office. An adult male was reportedly taken to St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula to be treated for a gunshot wound.
Two Bear Air assisted the Sanders County Sheriff’s Office in locating the suspect a short distance from the crime scene.
Officials are withholding the names of the victims and suspect until family is notified.
The Sanders County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crime.
