The Columbia Falls High School swim team will get its season underway this weekend as it competes at the Kalispell Invitational Saturday.

The Wildcats are coming off a strong season that saw the boys finish second at the state meet as senior Colton Babcock set a new state record in the 100 freestyle and also finished second in the 500 freestyle.

The boys team also finished fifth in the 200 freestyle relay and seventh in the 400 freestyle relay.

The Wildkats squad had several swimmers at the meet, but did not score any points to tie for fourth.

The swim team will be in action again Dec. 9 as they compete at the Butte Invitational.

The team will swim at their home facility in Whitefish Jan. 13 as Columbia Falls and Whitefish host the CAT-Dog Invitational.

The state meet will be in Great Falls Feb. 9-10.
