Robert P. ‘Bob’ Braden, 63
Robert 63, passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 28, 2017. Bob was born in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, to Robert and Isabel. Bob lived in Coeur d’Alene all of his short life. He met the love of his life, Sandra Messerly, in the first grade, and married her at the Methodist Church on Seventh Street on Nov. 3, 1973.
Bob worked at the Bunker Hill Mine from 1973 until they shut down in 1982. He went on to the LP Lumber Mill, a job he hated, until it shut down. In 1997, he found his career in the oxygen business, where he most recently worked at Preferred Medical.
Bob, in his later years, found that he loved to travel. He visited Las Vegas, Jamaica, Mexico, California and Florida. He also looked forward to every spring for morel mushroom hunting. Bob was also very fond of the Beatles.
In 1999 his first grandson, Tyler, was born, which was his best “little pickin’ buddy” he could ever ask for. They didn’t have a grandfather-grandson relationship, they were best friends. He also had two granddaughters, Josie and Katie, and another grandson, Braden, who he also adored.
Bob may have acted gruff, but he had a heart of gold and would give the shirt off his back.
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert; mother, Isabel; brother, Lenard; sister, Joanne Storla and cousin, Mike Hitchcock.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra; daughters, Angie and Bonnie; son and daughter-in-law, Ted and Denise; brother, Bill; aunt and uncle, Betty and Beeb Hitchcock; cousin, Cliff and numerous other family members, including his four grandkids.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, at Yates Funeral Home- Hayden Chapel, in Hayden, Idaho. There will be potluck gathering downstairs preceding the services. Yates Funeral Home has been entrusted with the final arrangements.
