Pirates soccer wins big conference battle over C-Falls

The Polson Pirates boys soccer team further solidified themselves as conference contenders and contenders as the state playoffs approach with a 4-0 victory over Columbia Falls Saturday afternoon at Polson High School.

The Pirates had an offensive barrage in the second half. Mack Moderie scored the first goal that was assisted by Linde Lambson at the 39-minute mark to give them a 1-0 lead over the Wildcats. Lambson scored the team’s second goal to further cushion the Pirates’ lead over Columbia Falls to give them a 2-0 lead at the 64-minute mark. Moderie assisted Lambson on the goal score.

Michael Vergeron, who was assisted by Moderie, ended the competitive phase of the game as the Pirates took a 3-0 lead over the Lady Bulldogs at the 69-minute mark. Four minutes later Keyan Dalbey scored the final goal of the game and was assisted by Alex Encizo.

Lady Pirates fall to C-Falls

The Polson Lady Pirates lost a critical conference game to Columbia Falls Saturday afternoon at Polson High School.

Early in the game the Lady Pirates lost one of its key components to their team when Ashley Howell was injured.

After Howell’s injury the Polson offense wasn’t able to find any rhythm in the loss.

The Lady Pirates next games will be against Whitefish at 5 p.m. Thursday at Whitefish High School. After the game with the Lady Bulldogs they will host the Libby Loggers at 11 p.m. Saturday at Polson High School.
