Elks Lodge No. 1254 has been involved in the National Elks Dictionary program for 15 years, and over that time has given 10,000 dictionaries to third-grade students in the Coeur d’Alene, Post Falls and Lakeland school districts and private schools to keep for their personal use. When the program is completed, the lodge receives many thank-you letters written by the students who received the dictionaries, and they are displayed in the Elks Lodge lobby.
