Bahá’ís of Coeur d’Alene are celebrating the 200th anniversary of the birth of Bahá’u’lláh (1817-1892), the founder of the Bahá’í Faith, from 1 to 4 p.m. on Oct. 21 and 22 with an open house at the Coeur d’Alene Library Community Room, 702 E. Front Ave. There will be video presentations, displays, conversation and refreshments.

The Light of Unity Festival is a celebration of the transformative impact of Bahá’u’lláh’s teachings on the lives of families, neighborhoods and communities around the country and the world. Bahá’u’lláh’s vision of the oneness of humanity is an antidote to the racial prejudice and materialism that are corroding American society.

“Now more than ever we need positive models of social change that bring people together rather than divide them,” said spokesman Bob Rinehart. “This is what we will be celebrating leading up to Bahá’u’lláh’s birth in October.”
