Sandra Kay Teall, 63
Sandra Kay Teall, 63, passed away Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017, at Hospice of North Idaho’s Schneidmiller House. She spent nearly a year in darkness, but has been released from the pain and darkness into the glorious light of Heaven.
Sandi was born Feb. 27, 1954, to Howard and Ruth Fiedler in Spokane, Wash. She enjoyed the freedoms of growing up in Priest River, Idaho. She graduated from Priest River Lamanna High School in 1972.
She met Mike Teall in 1971 when he returned from Vietnam and she was caring for his brother and sister. It was love and they were married on Aug. 12, 1972. Within a week they moved to Coeur d’Alene where Sandi began attending North Idaho College’s nursing program. She completed the program in 1973 and became an LPN.
Sandi began work at Kootenai Medical Center where she excelled as a nurse in the Emergency Room. She thrived on the action and being able to help the people who came under her care in the most chaotic moments of their lives. After many years at the ER, she moved on to help start up North Idaho Immediate Care Center with Dr. Jack Riggs. She was instrumental in its success because they were such a great team. She worked there until the company was absorbed into Kootenai Health. Sandi found herself once again employed by Kootenai. Her final position was as office manager for the Kootenai Clinic Family Medicine Post Falls office working with Drs. Stenhouse and Lindblad.
In 1977 and 1978, Sandi’s true joy came in the form of her children, Teiko Danielle Teall and Eric Michael Teall. Only to be surpassed by the joy of grandchildren, Cooper, Lucas, Caden and Landon. But being Mom and Nana didn’t stop there, she gathered more children to love, Sara Sweet and her daughter Mikayla and then more when Sara married Paul and their twins Colson and Carter came along.
Sandi will be remembered most for her heart. She was the kindest person and it was apparent to everyone who crossed paths with her. Even people on the street were drawn to her. You could always see her good spirit and grace shining through, along with a mad sense of humor. She had the best laugh!
Sandi was preceded in death by her father, Howard Fiedler and her mother, Ruth Fiedler.
She is survived by her husband, Mike Teall of Post Falls; her children, Teiko Szasz and her fiancé Gerardo Villegas of Boardman, Ore., Eric Teall and his wife Connie of Coeur d’Alene, and Sara White and her husband Paul of Rathdrum; grandchildren Cooper, Lucas, Caden and Landon Szasz, Mikayla, Colson and Carter White, David and Bryan Hawkins, Alexis, and Tony and Sophia Villegas; her brother, Jim Fiedler and his wife Mechele; and niece Amber Fiedler. She also had one grandchild on the way that she did not have the chance to meet, or just maybe in that instant her spirit got to introduce itself on its way to Heaven.
No services will be held per Sandi’s wishes.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of North Idaho.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date. Please share your thoughts and memories of Sandi in her online memorial at www.belltowerfuneralhome.com.
